In the city of Seymour, 20 light geese may be retained per day, per hunter, while dark geese are limited to four Canada geese and one white-fronted goose per day, as of the 2010-2011 hunting season. The per-season, per hunter possession limit for each species is double the daily bag limit.

All goose hunters in the city of Seymour are required to purchase a hunting license from the state, which is available for purchase online at the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife website. Licenses start at $25 annually as of July 2010.

According to the website Recreation.gov, Truscott Brine Lake is the closest hunting area to the city of Seymour and is located 30 minutes away in the city of Cromwell. All legally hunted animals, including goose, may be hunted at the lake.
