Assistive Technology Exchange Program
Due to financial hardship, persons with disabilities often have a difficult time acquiring tools that can benefit their way of life. Assistive technology exchange programs allows people to sell, donate or buy gently used assistive technology via the Internet.

Selling
-
Assistive technology exchange programs allow you to put your previously used tools---such as wheelchairs and hearing aids---into the hands of someone in need. Sellers can post pictures of the equipment they no longer need on the website specific to their region. With the picture, sellers include the price for the item. They also have the option of donating the equipment or trading through the website.
Buying
-
As a buyer, you can search the websites for the desired piece of equipment. If having a difficult time finding the specific item, buyers can post an ad on the website. In the ad, buyers can include a photo of the sought-out piece, the price limit and their contact information.

Considerations
-
Assistive technology exchange programs welcome any items that will improve the standard of living for a person with disability. Items must be in good condition. Items will be taken off the sales list if they pose a hygiene risk.
