The JL Audio 13W7 is a 14 inch subwoofer for car stereo systems. It has eight patented technologies that provide quality bass sound. The JL Audio 13W7 can handle 1500 watts of power. The company recommends providing it with 1000 watts of power for optimal performance. If you give it over 200o watts of power, the company will void your warranty.

The mounting diameter of the subwoofer is 11.9 inches. The mounting depth is 10.5 inches. Both these dimensions are important to consider when constructing a box to hold the speaker.

JL Audio provides specific dimensions for two types of speaker enclosures: sealed and ported. Sealed will result in better sound quality, while a ported enclosure will produce more volume, yet take up more room. For a sealed enclosure, the recommended dimensions are a width of 17 inches and a height of 17.5 inches with a depth of 16.5 inches. For a ported enclosure, the width is 25.125 inches with a depth of 17.25 inches, while the depth remains the same. The slot height, which allows more sound to come out, is 15.75 inches.
