Considerations
-
The amount of tick killer the dog needs is contingent on the dog's age and weight. Unfortunately, many flea and tick repellents only offer protection for up to four weeks, after which the dog needs a brand-new dosage.
Natural Remedies
-
You do not have to rely on specific market brands to kill ticks; there are natural remedies that allow you to exterminate the ticks yourself. For example, plunging a dog into warm water and using oatmeal shampoo can eradicate many parasites, including ticks.

Collars

In addition to oral medications, dogs can also wear tick collars. There are even environmentally-friendly collars made of natural materials that kill ticks.
