    • Barley is an annual grass that produces blades with smooth sheaths and short ligules. The erect blades grow in a tufted manner. Barley prefers growing in warm weather conditions.

    • Barley grass is cultivated for use as cereal, livestock fodder, and brewing beer. Barleys that are high in protein are used to make food while those that are starchy in nature are malted.

    Wheat Description

    • Wheat is an annual grass that produces hollow rachis. The leaves of the wheat grass grow erect and are flat in shape. Wheat grass grows well in cool, winter climates.

    Wheat Uses

    • Wheat is grown for the grain it provides. The grain is then used to make breads, alcohol, flour, and livestock feed. The straw produced by wheat grass is also used to create carpets, baskets, paper, and cattle bedding.
