Work Environment

Medical file clerks work in physician offices, clinics, hospitals and outpatient facilities. Hours are typically nine to five and weekend and evening work is sometimes required.
Preferred Background

Prior experience in filing and record maintenance is preferred. Job applicants with previous medical office experience are desirable.
