What Is a Charter Club?
Charter Clubs are open to a general public to join but then are privatized by their membership. In most cases, privileges for being a member are the main reason why people join a Charter Club.
-
Significance
-
A Charter Club is an exclusive club of members. Usually the members all share a common interest that made them come together as a club.
Types
-
Charter Clubs and their members are generally specialized toward a hobby or interest such as fishing, golfing, equestrian or even Alma Maters. Those who like fishing would join a Charter Club associated with fishing because the club would base their activities around this hobby.
-
Features
-
People who are interested in joining the Charter Club are usually more than welcome, but there are annual dues and duties that come with being a member of a Charter Club. Duties include serving on a board, working any events, or just going to social activities.
Function
-
Charter Clubs normally have regular scheduled meetings that members are encouraged to come to. The meetings are to go over finances, events, and to get ideas what the members would like to do collectively throughout the year.
Benefits
-
Charter Clubs usually have some sort of benefit for being a member, such as discounts, opportunities and camaraderie. For instance, if you are a member of an equestrian charter club, others in the group would know of horses for sale or equipment for sale and would pass this information along.
