Outdoor Gazebo Wedding Decorations
If you'll be exchanging your vows under a gazebo, the picturesque nature of gazebo construction will provide you with some built-in decoration. However, you can do a few extra things to add to the romantic ambiance, incorporate your wedding colors into the ceremony, and dress up the space.
-
Flowers
-
Since the gazebo space is open, and guests will be able to see through the gazebo openings to the outdoors, decorating with flowers will enhance the surrounding theme of nature. Use large bouquets of synthetic or real flowers in the colors you've selected for the wedding. Attach bouquets to the columns of the gazebo, if desired, or hang bouquets over the gazebo openings.
Wrapped Columns
-
Lengths of tulle or satin can be wrapped around the columns of the gazebo, and tied into bows at the ends to stay in place. These bows can be augmented with ribbon. This technique will add a light atmosphere to the ceremony, and is a wonderful way to decorate without have to attach anything to the surface of the gazebo (which may not be allowed, depending on the gazebo's location and origin).
-
Balloons
-
You can decorate the gazebo with balloons in your wedding colors by tying groups of balloons to the tulle bows on the columns, and placing clusters of balloons at each corner of the gazebo. Create balloon weights by filling decorative flower baskets with stones (which you can then cover with flowers), and tying the balloon cluster to the handle of the basket.
Candles
-
Candles are a sweet and romantic decorative accent for evening weddings. Use electric candles if you're holding the ceremony under a gazebo. This way you won't have to worry about the candles flickering out due to the wind, or coming into contact with the wood or other fire hazards. Candles can be placed in the 'windows' of the gazebo, or around you and your spouse as you say 'I do' to one another.
Bows
-
Large velvet or satin ribbon can be tied in bows around the gazebo columns or elsewhere on the gazebo to make the space prettier and more ceremonial. Using alternating wedding colors for the bows will accent the flower and additional decorations nicely.
