Lawn Care Problems
Lawns need regular maintenance to keep them free from pests and diseases and looking in lovely condition. Like all plants, lawn grasses can suffer from common problems that will require care. Does this Spark an idea?

Silvery Spots
-
Lack of moisture in the soil and nitrogen can cause a disease called dollar spot. It appears on lawns as silvery-gray spots, typically 6 inches in diameter, but can sometimes merge together to appear as a single, larger, damaged area.
Red Thread Disease
-
Lawns suffering from red thread look patchy and bleached with red strands appearing on leaf tips. It is caused by a fungus called Laetisaria fuciformis and is prevalent on lawns sown with fescue and ryegrass blends.

Leatherjacket Infestation
-
Leatherjackets are lavae of the crane fly that feed on grass roots during autumn and winter. This inhibits the growth of grass in spring and results in patches of yellow turf.
Tunnelling Moles
-
Moles live across Europe and North America, primarily underground, feeding on earthworms. Their tunnelling results in unsightly mounds of earth on lawns.
Dog Urine
-
Dog urine can burn grass and create brown patches in a lawn. Moisture levels can be restored by watering the affected area.
