Destination Wedding in Vegas
Las Vegas calls itself the Wedding Capital of the World, and the city works to make weddings easy. Wedding planner, Lisa Light, says there is no residency requirement, which means you can get married as soon as you arrive in the city and obtain a license.

Geography
-
Keep the Las Vegas desert climate in mind, if that is a consideration for you or your guests. Las Vegas is located in the middle of the desert with summertime highs reaching close to 120 degrees F. Winter temperatures range from the 70s to 80s.
Cost
-
The Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce offers a wedding guide which can help you determine costs and types of arrangements you may want to make. Packages start at under $150, but will not include much other than the license and a short ceremony.

Benefits
-
Lisa Light says "Nevada is noted for having the most non-ecumenical chapels in the United States." As a city geared towards weddings and conventions, Las Vegas offers solutions galore. Purchase a package from one of the many wedding chapels or do-it-yourself more traditionally by choosing your wedding site and then a reception area.
Time Frame
-
License bureaus in Las Vegas are open seven days a week until midnight. During state holidays, they are open 24 hours.
Famous Ties
-
Las Vegas issues over 120,000 marriage licenses a year. Some of Hollywood's most enduring marriages (Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward), shortest marriages (Britney Spears and Jason Alexander) and most numerous marriages (Mickey Rooney and seven brides) have taken place in Las Vegas.
