ARC incorporates rehabilitation and complementary aid for cancer patients.

ARC is an acronym for "Aftercare Research Counselling." ARC is a registered charity that was founded in 1994. Situated in Dublin, Ireland, the ARC Centre provides care and support for cancer patients and their families.

  1. Location

    • There are currently two ARC centres, the first was founded in 1994, and is situated in the heart of Dublin. Work on a second ARC centre was completed at the end of 2002. The second centre is situated in Cork, Ireland.

    Treatments and Therapies

    • The treatments available at ARC are not designed to cure cancer but to support the patient during conventional treatment. Therapies include reflexology, therapeutic massage, yoga and a variety of relaxation aids.

    Services

    • Other services consist of drop-in areas—which patients are free to use without making an appointment—cancer counseling and meditation sessions.

    Courses

    • There are a variety of courses from which to choose, including stress management, cancer-specific workshops, a natural beauty workshop and creativity courses.

    Pricing

    • All services and therapies provided by ARC are free.

    Funding

    • Funding for ARC is provided by the UK Health and Safety Executive and charitable donations. The ARC centres also organize a number of sponsored activities and events to raise funds.
