Definition of an Army Recruiter Station Commander
Army Recruiting Station Commanders lead subordinate recruiters in the mission of generating interest in the Army and helping enlistees ensure that their paperwork is in order when they ship off to boot camp.

Duties

Recruiting Station Commanders ensure that subordinate recruiters are meeting their quotas for the number of enlistees per month. They also approve public recruiting events and manage the station's Future Soldier Program that prepares enlistees to ship out to Basic Combat Training.
Qualifications

Soldiers aspiring to serve as a station commander must already have successfully served one tour as an Army recruiter. Soldiers in any Military Occupational Specialty can apply to become a Recruiting Station Commander as long as they have served as a recruiter. An MOS is a soldier's job, like infantryman or intelligence analyst.

Training

Training for this position consists of the Recruiting Station Commander Course. Students will learn how to develop an individual station mission plan, plan school recruiting events and conduct performance reviews for subordinate recruiters.
Course Details

The course is three weeks long and is located at the Army's Recruiting and Retention School at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
After the Army

Experience as an Army Recruiting Station Commander prepares soldiers for civilian positions like hiring manager, event planner or youth activities director. Military service enhances key skills, such as time management and interpersonal communication. These qualities are in high demand in the civilian sector.
