Free Grants & Loans for Pregnant Women
There are a variety of grants and loans available for pregnant women through the federal government. Some are for government agencies only, but others trickle down and benefit pregnant women directly.

Grants for Abstinence Education

An education grant was created to facilitate programs about abstinence for pregnant teens. The "Adolescent Family Life-Demonstration Projects" program is a grant for pregnant and parenting teens, especially those under the age of 17. The grant provides for care and prevention services, and particularly focuses on educating the youth to abstain from sexual activity.
Government Food Grant

States can receive grants to help feed low-income pregnant owmen. Another grant is the "Commodity Supplemental Food Program". State agencies can apply to receive supplemental USDA foods to provide to low-income pregnant women and their children.

Healthcare Grant

There are healthcare grants for pregnant women without proper health care options. The Department of Health and Human Services offers the "Maternal and Child Health Services Block Grant to the States", to provide better health care options to pregnant women, mothers and children, who do not have satisfactory health care.
WIC Grant

WIC helps to supply women with supplemental foods,and eduction for pregnant mothers. The "Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children" (WIC), through the Department of Agriculture, provides supplemental foods and nutrition education, to pregnant women with financial challenges and their children.
Federal Student Aid

Pregnant women can apply for college financial aid. Pregnant women are eligible to apply for federal student aid through the "Free Application for Federal Student Aid" (FAFSA), which is affiliated with the U.S. Department of Education.
Pregnant Women Support Act

Congress is working on the Pregnant Women Support Act, which features numerous grants. A proposed House bill, the "Pregnant Women Support Act," provides agencies with grants to educate women,offer alternatives to abortion, allow clinics to purchase ultrasound equipment, and for colleges to receive funding to enable their pregnant students to stay in school while expecting.
