Many car enthusiasts are passionate about purchasing aftermarket rims for their car. There are hundreds of rims available on the market, and each rim can give a unique look to a particular car. Many of the rims available are also made of varying materials and have very different qualities.

  1. Chrome

    • Chrome rims, widely considered the most stylish, are the most expensive and heaviest rims on the market. These feature a shiny chrome coating on the outside of the wheel.

    Single-piece Cast Aluminum

    • Aluminum wheels are among the most popular options on the market. These wheels tend to be affordably priced, durable and of average weight.

    Processed Steel Rims

    • Steel rims are the cheapest types of wheels. These rims often feature plastic hubcaps because the wheel itself has very bland styling.

    Wide Rims

    • When purchasing rims, there is often an option for a wider than normal rim. While this accommodates a wider tire that can improve performance and handling, they are also more expensive and use more expensive tires.

    Lightweight Rims

    • Lightweight rims are the ultimate high-performance rims. These allow a car to accelerate faster but are quite susceptible to damage from potholes and irregularities on the road.
