-
Types of Wet Cleaning
-
Wet cleaning methods are those that use the most water. Steam, also known as hot water extraction and shampoo cleaning methods, are wet cleaning methods.
Types of Dry Cleaning
-
Absorbent compound is the driest cleaning method, relying on a moist powder to absorb dirt, odors and stains from carpet. Dry foam barely wets carpet, using only the foam from a shampoo mixture. Bonnet cleaning uses a light mist of liquid cleaning chemical.
-
Benefits of Wet Methods
-
Wet methods are the most aggressive and remove the most dirt and debris from a carpet. Restoration cleaning requires the deep cleaning offered only by the wet methods.
Benefits of Dry Cleaning
-
The dry cleaning methods offer extremely fast drying times of less than one hour. Dry cleaning is not prone to the over-wetting carpet damage associated with wet cleaning.
Drawback of Wet Cleaning
-
Wet cleaning can take 12 to 24 hours to dry.
Drawback of Dry Cleaning
-
Dry cleaning is considered a surface cleaning. Therefore, it does not remove the dirt and debris trapped deep in the carpet fibers.
