What Is a Probate Final Report?

A probate final report, known better as the final probate settlement, is issued by a probate judge, releases the duties of the personal representative and closes the estate.

Personal representatives are those either chosen in advance by the deceased or appointed by the court to handle decision-making matters of the estate.

Upon death, a person's estate is subject to the probate process. During this process, the court will validate the will and determine how the estate will be distributed with the assistance of the personal representative.
