Many seniors residing in nursing homes enjoy crafting. They can make items for themselves or to give as gifts. The activities director can be sure that there are plenty of craft supplies on hand for this purpose.

  1. Easy Sachets

      Creating sachets is easy, using small drawstring bags and potpourri. Seniors simply fill the bags about two-thirds full, tie them and the project is complete.

    Foam Magnets

      Have the seniors create magnets using foam shapes, foam glue and magnets. They can glue smaller shapes onto larger shapes, then glue the magnet to the back.

    • Have crafters glue two sticks together like an X. They will simply wind yarn around the X, creating a classic God's eye. The end of the yarn can be glued to the back to make it secure.
