Programmer analysts develop software and computer systems. These previously separated job titles are becoming more common as technology advances and allows professionals to work with both software and hardware.

    • The combined occupation referred to as a programmer analyst requires proficiency in both roles, and knowledge of computer programming, software, hardware and maintenance.
