Tylenol's main ingredient, acetaminophen, is usually more gentle for women who are pregnant and is recommended for the treatment of fever and joint pain.

Bad Mixes

Some people use Tylenol when their prescriptions can not be taken with aspirin. There are some birth control and blood pressure medications that should not b combined with Tylenol. In addition, people with heart problems or blood clotting complications are not advised to take aspirin because it thins the blood, so they can use Tylenol for their pain instead.

Aspirin Allergies

Some people have allergic reactions to aspirin, developing hives, itchy rashes and some swelling. Consequently, many turn to Tylenol.
