-
Family
-
As a family, trace your hands on construction paper. Cut the tracings out, and use a marker to draw an eye and mouth on the thumbs. Use colorful feathers or construction paper to mimic a turkey's feathers, and glue them on the remaining four fingers. Hang the turkeys around the dining room.
Floral
-
Cut the top off a butternut squash and scoop the seeds out. Fill it with water, and add yellow, gold and orange flowers for an instant, natural, harvest-filled centerpiece.
-
Lighting
-
While dimming your regular lighting, place lighted candles throughout the room to create a softer atmosphere. Opt for unscented candles to avoid clashing with Thanksgiving dinner.
Harvest
-
Hang Indian corn from the mantelpiece and put miniature pumpkins and gourds into wooden baskets, to be placed throughout the room in a gorgeous display of harvest's bounty.
Considerations
-
Thanksgiving is a time for family, friends, fellowship and fun. Think of those four things when coming up with your Thanksgiving decorating ideas.
