Why Does My Wavy Hair Frizz When I Scrunch It?
Naturally curly and wavy hair possesses a natural inclination to frizz and appear dry after styling. On humid days, people with natural curl may find it extremely difficult to control frizz and maintain some semblance of style. However, the problem can be fixed with a few simple adjustments. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Product
-
You must always use product in naturally curly hair. Gels, mousses, glazes and serums help control frizz and add shine to unruly, wavy hair.
Wrong Product
-
You should never use products with high alcohol content or products intended for fine, limp hair. Instead, choose products that are specifically formulated for curly, frizzy hair.
-
Heat
-
Check the temperature setting on your blow dryer. Too much heat ruffles up the cuticle layer of the hair and causes frizz. Blow dry using the coolest setting on your dryer.
Technique
-
To scrunch, loosely hold handfuls of hair and allow the air from the blow dryer to pass through your fingertips to dry the hair. Do not directly point the blow dryer at the hair. Discontinue drying when the hair is 75 percent dry.
Damage
-
Damaged and over-processed hair always appears frizzy. Cut, condition and avoid chemical services until frizz is under control.
