Any animals that have worms should be kept away from pets that do not, as the parasites are extremely contagious. Food bowls, toys, litter boxes and sleeping areas should be kept separate.

    Immune System

    • Feeding a cat the proper foods and supplementary vitamins helps to strengthen the immune system to fight against disease. A vet should be consulted for the proper method of defense for individual cats.

    Kittens with Infected Mothers

    • If kittens are nursing from an infected mother, worms can be passed on through the milk. Therefore, kittens should be dewormed at 6 weeks, 8 weeks and 10 weeks old. Pregnant mothers should be dewormed after giving birth.
