Mange Treatment in Squirrels
There are two types of mange commonly found in squirrels, sarcoptic mange and notoedric mange. Both types cause fur loss and are best treated in early stages for quick recovery.

Ivermectin can be placed in food to give the squirrel. Ivermectin is an anti-parasitic medicine that can only be prescribed by a veterinarian. It is given orally and can be placed in the food of the squirrel to ensure it is swallowed.
Neem and Lavender

Lavender and neem can be used to battle mange These two essential oils comprise an herbal remedy that effectively battles the mange mite. It is mixed one part lavender oil to one part neem and ten parts almond or olive oil, and applied to the affected areas twice daily.

Sulfur and Lyme Dip

This dip is commonly used on pet dogs or cats to treat mange and can be purchased in most pet supply stores or from a veterinarian. This treatment is best used for tame squirrels.
Motor Oil

Using automotive motor oil is an old and common method of treating animals with mange, including squirrels. The oil protects the skin and suffocates the mites.
Garlic

Garlic is probably one of the oldest remedies for treating mites and mange. One cup of mineral oil mixed with 10 cloves of crushed garlic is applied one to two times daily until an improvement is seen.
