Walther Gun Information

Carl Walther was the founder of a firearms company that has been manufacturing weapons for over a century. The Walther brand is well-known for high-quality firearms used by hobbyists and military personnel alike.

  1. History

    • In 1886, Carl Walther began his firearm company in Zella-Hehlis, Germany. He laid the foundation for new firearms standards used for military, government and hobbyists. In 1908, the company released the first self-loading 6.35 millimeter pistol. Walther died in 1915 and his sons took over the company.

    Firearms

    • Walther offers a number of different gun models including the PK380, SP22, PPS, PPK and PPK/S, P99, P22 and the G22 rifle. The majority of its firearms are handguns ranging from .22-caliber to the powerful .40&W-caliber, allowing gun enthusiasts of all levels to find a suitable firearm. The rifle is also versatile as it has been used in Olympic shooting events and also for hunting and plinking.

    Smith and Wesson Joint Venture

    • In 1999, Smith and Wesson and Walther announced a joint plan that enabled Walther to distribute firearms and accessories throughout the United States as well as the company's homeland, Germany.

    • Walther supplies a full line of high-quality firearm accessories, including additional magazines, holsters, targets, safety glasses, signature clothing, knives and binoculars.

    New Products Available In Germany

    • Walther offers a larger depth of products in its home country, Germany. New products that are available there and not yet in the United States include Walther KK300 Anatomic rifle, Hammerli x-esse IPSC handgun, Walther LG30 Vision, Walther LP300 Club handgun, Walther PK 380 handgun, Colt M4/M16 .22 caliber rifle and new DigiView Pro night vision accessories.
