About Refurbished Apple Computers
A refurbished product can be anything from an original unit with defective parts to an unopened returned product. A refurbished product is only as good as the company's name. Fortunately for buyers, Apple is known for quality.

Definition
-
An Apple certified refurbished product is a pre-owned Apple product that has undergone stringent refurbishing before being offered for sale. Some units are returned because of technical issues; others may have been demos. Every product goes through Apple's strict refurbishment process before being offered for sale on its website.
Warranty
-
Apple states the following on its website: "We test and certify all Apple refurbished products and include a one-year warranty." That is the same warranty given to all new Apple products. The Apple Care Protection Plan, a plan that can be purchased for all Apple products that extends the warranty, can be purchased for refurbished products as well.
-
Savings
-
All Apple products, including the iPhone, can be found in the refurbishment listings on Apple's website (see References). Check the site daily, as it frequently changes.
Process
-
Each refurbished product is fully tested, including full burn-in testing. Any defective modules identified in testing are replaced. The product is thoroughly cleaned and inspected and repackaged with all manuals and cables.
Where To Buy
-
An Apple certified refurbished product can only be purchased from the online Apple store. Although there are computer websites that sell used Apple products, these have not undergone Apple's refurbishing process.
