Acne Slush Treatment

There are several different treatments available to those with acne. Some include pills, topical treatment and surgery. Slush treatment for acne is a less abrasive form of surgery for those that suffer from acne. Does this Spark an idea?

    • The slush treatment is made up of a mixture of carbon dioxide, acetone and sulfur.

    Method

    • Dry ice cryotherapy, or slush treatment, is sometimes used to treat acne by putting dry ice on the problem areas and "freezing" off the troubled skin.

    Treatment

    • Slush treatment can be performed with a local anesthetic, and is done by a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist upon careful diagnosis. It has been tried on mild and severe acne with positive results.

    Dual Treatment

    • Often acne slush treatment is not used alone, but in combination with a facial peel or another acne treatment.

    Positive Responses

    • Most of the time this method yields positive results for patients. However, studies have not seemed to narrow down what is the best point to use the slush treatment on acne.

    Other Uses

    • Slush treatments or cryosurgery treatments are often used to remove unsightly moles or warts.
