A hospice coordinator is a registered nurse who coordinates the care of patients in a hospice program. These professionals arrange for the care of terminally ill individuals and their families.

Qualifications

Coordinating the care of hospice patients includes promoting and hiring workers to assist patients, training staff, working with physicians to ensure proper medication is administered, as well as monitoring, scheduling and overseeing patient care. This occupation also coordinates bereavement counseling with social workers for families of patients.
