Composite & PVC Decking
Composite decking, also known as PVC decking, is a new and economically friendly decking product. This product is easy to install and incredibly durable. The name for this decking comes from the combination of sawdust and plastic binder used to create the product. Does this Spark an idea?
-
What is Composite Decking?
-
Composite decking is made from a combination of sawdust and a plastic resin binder. Because it is made from the waste that is left from other wood products, no trees need to be cut down specifically for the purpose of making composite decking.
Using Composite Decking
-
Because it is made from wood, just like traditional wood decks, composite can be installed in much the same way. Composite decking can be nailed, screwed and sawed as usual. As an added benefit, composite decking doesn't release any VOCs (Volatile Organic Compound) when sawed.

Benefits of Composite Decking
-
Because composite decking is molded, you never need to take the time to miter joints or create trims. Simply consider the joints you will need up-front and order your composite pieces accordingly.
Maintenance
-
Composite decking requires virtually no maintenance and is naturally a beautiful gray color that is enhanced with wear. The base binding in composite decking makes it both strong and weather-resistant.
Cost
-
Although composite decking is more costly than wood decking, your expenses will be offset somewhat by the durability and lack of maintenance required by the product.
