Shelf Life of Bottled Ozarka Water

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not require a shelf life for bottled water, which includes bottled Ozarka water. However, there are a few precautions that should be taken in terms of storage.

  1. History

    • Established in 1907, Ozarka Water Company, also known as Eureka Water, manufactures Ozarka Drinking Water, Ozarka Fluoridated Water, Ozarka Spring Water, Shamrock Steam Distilled Water and Mountain Valley Spring Water.

    Shelf Life

    • According to www.ozarkah2o.com, bottled water has the potential to be used indefinitely if stored properly with a cap. However, the Ozarka water company states that Ozarka water will last no more than two years for non-carbonated water, and one year for sparkling water.

    Storage

    • Ozarka bottled water should be stored in a cool and dry environment away from direct sunlight. It should not be near toxic fumes or cleaning products that contain chemicals that are hazardous if swallowed.

    Warning

    • According to the Global Healing Center, dangerous bacteria and potentially toxic plastic compounds have been found in the types of water bottles that are reused. Recycle your Orzarka water bottle but refrain from refilling it with water to drink.

    Fun Fact

    • Bottled water is regulated by FDA . It is considered a food product. Tap water however, is regulated by the US Environmental Protection Agency and is considered a utility.
