Cons of Bragada Mattresses

Cons of Bragada Mattresses thumbnail
For some people, Bragada mattresses take some getting used to.

Bragada is a major manufacturer of memory-foam, or visco-elastic, mattresses. While these mattresses have become increasingly popular, some users have reported certain disadvantages. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Adjustment Period

    • While many people sleep well on a Bragada mattress the very first night, others may not feel their mattress is immediately comfortable, and sleeping on it may take some getting used to.

    Odor

    • Some Bragada mattress owners report no initial odor, while others complain of "off gassing," which occurs when a new mattress produces a chemical odor that can last several hours to several days. This phenomenon, however, occurs with many memory-foam mattresses.

    Limitations

    • The use of electric blankets with Bragada memory-foam mattresses is discouraged. Over time, an electric blanket can slowly break down the mattress' ability to "remember" your body's contours. In addition, because the foam remembers these contours, you may have trouble turning comfortably during the night.

    Firmness

    • Bragada mattresses do not feature adjustable firmness, unlike mattresses produced by other manufacturers.

    Cost

    • In general, Bragada mattresses are more expensive than innerspring mattresses, and larger, higher-end models can cost more than $2,000.
