    • Socket wrench sets vary in number and type of components. The typical elements of a socket wrench set are: a wrench (also known as a ratchet), several extenders and several sockets. Socket wrench sets are commonly sold with a storage case.

    How It Works

    • The ratchet, fitted with the appropriate socket, is placed on the desired nut or bolt. The user rotates the ratchet to tighten the nut or bolt, and upon moving the ratchet handle in the opposite direction, the handle disengages from the socket, allowing the user to tighten a nut or bolt without having to constantly lift and replace the tool.
