Differences Between Basic & Full-Coverage Car Rental Insurance at Enterprise thumbnail
Enterprise Rental Car offers a basic or comprehensive package.

Your personal automobile insurance policy extends the same coverage to your rental vehicle. Enterprise Rental Car offers a basic or comprehensive package for a fee if you chose not to use your own policy.

  1. Collision

    • Both insurance packages cover physical damage to the rental vehicle whether from an accident, theft, vandalism or acts of nature. The renter does not pay a deductible.

    Liability

    • Basic insurance does not cover damage or injury to a third party caused by the rental/insured driver. The Full Coverage policy pays for damage and injury to vehicles, property and people not in the rental vehicle at the time of the loss.

    Injury

    • Enterprise offers Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) in both of their insurance packages. This coverage pays accidental death benefits and emergency medical expenses for the renter and everyone in the vehicle.

    Personal Property

    • Personal Effects Protection (PEP) is available under basic and full coverage. This covers the personal property lost, stolen or damaged while in the vehicle at the time of the loss.

    Consideration

    • Enterprise offers an additional option for insurance. A renter can purchase a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW). The renter agrees to use his own personal policy to cover the rental and third parties while Enterprise agrees to pay the insured deductible.
