History

The bridge was first developed, and the procedure performed, by Dr. Yvan Fortin in 1992. The first patient's name was Marius Lessard, thus the name. Since then, its benefits have been documented in several academic journals, and there are now dentists able to perform the procedure in the U.S., Canada and Europe.
