Satin fabric

There are adhesive products for just about any fabric and it is possible to glue pictures onto satin fabric. Pictures can be on paper or on another fabric and can adhere to satin.

  1. Satin Fabric

    • Satin is a glossy fabric on one side with a dull appearance on the backside. It is a fabric made with the fibers of silk, nylon and polyester.

    Pictures

    • When intending to glue a picture onto a satin fabric, the same method can be used, whether the picture is from paper or another fabric.

    Adhesives

    • There are many permanent fabric glues which will adhere a picture to satin. They are generally made from clear gel adhesives.

    Types of Fabric Glue

    • Fabric adhesives include Fabri-tac Permanent Fabric Adhesive, Aleene's® Super Fabric™ Textile Adhesive Glue, or any other permanent fabric glue. They are available on line or at fabric stores.

    Permanent Adhesion

    • It is important to note that gluing paper to satin is not permanent and after a length of time, or once the fabric is washed, the adhesion will not remain. However, if the picture is from another fabric, it can be permanently bonded to satin.
