What Is the Livelink Enterprise Server?

The Open Text Corporation rebranded its Livelink Enterprise Server as the new Open Text Content Server in June 2009. This server serves the market of clients who want to store a large amount of data on one powerful server.

Access Types

According to Cristof Bals, Stefan Smolnik and Gerold Riempp, you can access the Livelink Enterprise Server (LES) either through the WebDAV interface in Windows Explorer or through the server's online portal.

Function

The LES enables the organization to store vast amounts of content in one knowledge management system.

The Livelink Enterprise Server was developed to help organizations manage their data on one system instead of using different types of servers in each department.

Considerations

The newest version of the Open Text Content Server belongs to the larger product suite called the Enterprise Content Management system. This system enables employees to collaborate in a social, Web 2.0 environment with new social media capabilities (unveiled in 2009).
