What Is a Green Amethyst?

Amethyst is a quartz, also known as a gemstone, which usually comes in some shade of violet. Amethyst stones are often used for some form of protection or healing. Although the stone is typically violet, there are also varieties of green amethyst quartz, also known as prasiolite.

  1. What Is Green Amethyst?

    • Typically, green amethyst is artificially formed by treating the stone with heat. This stone can be found naturally, but natural green amethyst is very uncommon. This stone is known for its healing properties and is often carried around in a person's pocket or used to cleanse his aura, a generally beneficial sphere surrounding the body, often "seen" as a color.

The Metaphysical Properties of Green Amethyst

    • The green amethyst stone is known for its many different metaphysical properties such as helping the body when it is in physical pain. The benefits of this stone are especially good for helping the heart and lungs in the healing process.

    Using Green Amethyst for Healing

    • If a person is using the stone to soothe a perceived medical problem or injury, the quartz should be near the area of the person's body most in need of healing. Place the quartz directly on the skin for best healing results.

    Green Amethyst In the Home

    • Some people keep the stone somewhere around the home to benefit from its natural healing and the positive energy properties. Large stones will be kept on tables or counters, while smaller quartz pieces may be placed in a bowl or vase somewhere around the home.

    Green Amethyst and Meditation

    • Green amethyst is often used during meditation ceremonies. A person will typically hold the stone in a hand during the process. Other people will put the stone in a pouch and keep it in a pocket or wear the stone in the form of a necklace or bracelet.
