Diabetic Dermopathy

Changes in the small blood vessels due to diabetes may result in diabetic dermopathy. Oval or circular scaly patches that are light brown in color usually appear on the front of the legs. They do not itch, hurt or open up. This skin condition is harmless, and no treatment is required, states the SkinSight website.
Shingles

Shingles causes your skin to itch and semicircular and circular rashes appear around the trunk. There is no cure for shingles. Antiviral medicine, antidepressants and topical creams are used to relieve the pain. It is believed that stress causes a shingles flare up.

Discoid eczema features the emergence of a red circular area that is itchy and oozes fluids. Discoid eczema is more prevalent in middle-aged and older men. It is treated like other eczemas but is more resistant to treatment and may require more potent steroids or topical antibiotics.
