The E5500 has an internal NiCad battery, a timer that turns the device off after two minutes of brushing and an easy-start feature that allows the user to get used to the sensation of the rapid bristle movement. The E5500 also has a Quadpacer, which beeps every 25 percent increment of the brushing cycle, allowing the user to give equal time to each section of the mouth.
