Wire Vs. Plastic Dog Crate
A dog's crate provides a safe haven from the commotion of unexpected company and comfortable quarters when he sleeps away from home. They vary in material and construction. Traditionally, dog crates appear in two forms: hard sided plastic crates and airy wire crates.

Storage

Wire crates are designed to collapse. Fold and store them underneath a bed or in a car trunk when not in use. Plastic crates cannot collapse, but are lighter in weight.

A blanket provides warmth in cool weather. While both styles are uninsulated, the enclosed plastic crate retains heat more readily. Drape a blanket over the top of a wire crate to insulate in cool weather.
