Hired to coordinate events in a non-profit setting, charity event coordinators are responsible for the conception and execution of events such as auctions, balls, galas, etc., designed to raise funds for a non-profit cause or organization.

Duties may include meeting with boards or trustees to establish a financial goal, working with committees to create an event focused on seeking money for that goal and executing the event to a lucrative end. They are responsible for working with staff, vendors, guests and donors to ensure a seamless and profitable event.
Education

A high school education is required for a position in fund-raising. Some positions may require a bachelor's degree in public relations or communications, while others may prefer a background in non-profits or fund-raising such as charity management, development or finance.
