    • Red Toads are most easily found during their midsummer mating season, due to the male's mating call. The call consists of a loud "whoop" lasting from .9-1.2 seconds.

    Abundance

    • Red Toads are quite abundant in the central and Southeast areas of Africa, often living in livestock areas, or close to human settlement.

    Tadpoles

    • Red Toad tadpoles have an unusual horse-shoe shaped flap of skin on their head.

    Evolution

    • Studies have shown that the evolution of the Red Toad separated from other toads about 55 million years ago, hence their unique characteristics.
