What Is Stewardship for a Seventh-day Adventist?
Stewardship is a fundamental doctrine for the Seventh-day Adventist Christian, based in the belief that God, at creation, established the first humans as the caretakers of the world, and that this responsibility has passed to all progeny of that original couple.

The 10 percent tithe Stewardship is generally associated with money, especially the tithe, and with support of the church as a whole. But it also includes time management, opportunities for service, use of talents and skills, and the sharing of possessions and resources. With the certain knowledge that everything belongs to God, Christians should be cheerful in giving, to aid in proclaiming the Gospel to the world, and supporting the church in healthy growth.

The well-being of planet Earth The 10 percent tithe, with examples throughout Scripture, is more a suggested starting point for the Seventh-day Adventist Christian, and should not be limited to the money. That a percentage of all time should be devoted to God. "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving," says Col. 3:23-24.
The world is our responsibility

He's coming back A Seventh-day Adventist also believes that is steward of the very Earth. Christians must be concerned for the health and well-being of rivers, oceans, forests, jungles, and all the species of animals and plants and insects, as well as every other person. All of these were created by God and belong to God. It is the responsibility of the steward to take care of God's possessions until His return.
Return of the King

A steward is someone put in charge of the King's possessions while He is away. Jesus told parables regarding stewards who misbehaved while the master was away. It is a central teaching of the Seventh-day Adventist Church that Jesus is the King, and that He is coming back soon, with both rewards for those who have done rightly, and punishment for those who have done wrong, as stated in Revelation 11:18, with a clear warning in regard to stewardship: "And the nations were angry, and your wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that you should give reward to your servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear your name, small and great; and should destroy them which destroy the earth."
