A bridge network is a method of connecting nearby clusters of computers to one another. Each cluster forms its own network, and the bridge connects these clusters. This bridge can be a physical device or software-based.

Each packet has a "header," which contains origin and destination information. The bridge uses this information to create a map of the subnets it is connecting.
