Microsoft Access is a database program that can be used by corporations and individuals. Most database systems require advanced programming knowledge whereas Access does not require a programming language. Although Access is easier to use than traditional databases, programmers are still needed.

An Access Programmer is responsible for building and maintaining databases. She must ensure the databases work properly and repair them if any issues occur. When she builds a database, she gathers the requirements from the users and incorporates them into the database.
User Guides And Training

The Access Programmer creates user and technical guides. The user guides instruct the end-user on how to navigate the database. The technical guide is created to assist other Access Programmers with the database administration. The programmer also conducts training classes for database end-users.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

The programmer should have technical skills and excellent communication skills. He must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite and Visual Basic and other programming languages. The ideal candidate will be able to take technical, complex information and relay it using everyday, layman's language. He must be comfortable writing training manuals and technical manuals.
