Leader & Fishing Rig Storage
Storing your fishing supplies properly can make your fishing experiences smoother and more rewarding. New fishermen need to learn how to handle this aspect of fishing and experienced anglers sometimes benefit from revisiting the basics.
-
Big and Tough
-
Whether you fish in salt or fresh water, pick a tackle box that is corrosion resistant and has twice the amount of storage that you think is needed.
Boxes For Tackle
-
Replace the cardboard boxes that hooks, lures and sinkers come in with small plastic boxes. You can find them in craft and sewing stores.
-
Prevent Tackle Tangle
-
Rigged for a trophy Loop leaders, nylon or metal, and store each of them in separate snack-size, plastic bags. Use a marker to write the length of the leader on the outside.
Bobbers Bagged
-
Separate bobbers into plastic bags by size and shape.
Clean It Up
-
Day's end Clean the tackle you use in fresh water, removing bait remains from hooks, sharpening hooks, and wiping metal items with a cloth and some spray solvent to prevent rust.
