Gaba Supplement Side Effects

GABA, also known as Gamma Aminobutyric Acid, is a dietary supplement taken for anxiety, ADHD, stress problems, promoting muscle growth, burning fat and more. According to WebMD there is not enough information currently available to evaluate the safety of GABA. There are also no studies showing if GABA is safe to be taken by pregnant women. WebMD suggests not taking GABA if you are pregnant as a precautionary step.

    • According to Clarocet, there is no recommended daily dosing for GABA. Children often respond to doses as little as 10mg to 100mg. Adults often take anywhere from 250mg to 1,000mg.

    • According to Clarocet, GABA is a safe supplement. There are no well-documented human trials that show adverse reactions to GABA.

    Side Effects

    • There are no documented studies showing side effects for taking GABA. According to Clarocet, some people may experience gastrointestinal upset from GABA. If you experience any other adverse reactions, stop taking the supplement.

    Calming Effect

    • According to WebMD, GABA may cause a relaxing effect that may feel like drowsiness or fatigue.
