    Purpose

    • According to the 40th section of Lumen Gentium, people should live a Christian life, which is devoted to charity and to service of their neighbors.

    Ministry

    • According to the 20th section of Lumen Gentium, bishops are the successors to the apostles, and they fulfill the duties required to grow the Church and spread its teachings.

    Mary

    • Section 53 of Lumen Gentium re-establishes the role of Mary as the Mother of the Son of God and Mother of the Redeemer.
