Cell phones are among the most popular electronic accessories in modern culture, as they allow communication from anywhere. Many new cell phones also offer features for organizational or entertainment purposes.

Calls

The primary purpose of cell phones is still making phone calls. Cell phones allow users to make calls while at home, while running errands or while traveling, and they come in handy in case of an emergency.

Messaging

Many cell phones can send text, voice or picture messages to other cell phone users for quick and sometimes visual communication. Instant messaging is also possible on newer phone models.

Cell phones can be used to browse the Internet, check e-mail and even download content directly to the phone's memory.

Almost all cell phones now feature organizational tools such as alarm clocks, calendars and calculators that eliminate the need for carrying separate devices.
