Decorate a cake with edible silver glitter for a silver anniversary. Silver edible glitter is appropriate for use on wedding, silver anniversary or holiday seasonal cakes, edible flowers or gourmet chocolates.
Application

Apply edible glitter or dust with a dry brush. Edible silver glitter may be mixed into frosting for a silver color. Lightly brush dry or moistened silver glitter decoration to apply to surfaces.

Edible silver glitter does not contain real silver metal and is safe to eat. The color comes from a silver edible powder added to water and gum arabic--a baking ingredient--to create the edible glitter.
Homemade Glitter

According to Debbie Brown's "Easy Party Cakes," homemade glitter is easy to make using equal parts edible silver powder, gum arabic, and water. Mix ingredients, spread thinly on a cookie sheet, and bake in a low oven until dry. Cool the mixture and push through a sieve to create glitter.

Silver luster dust is a finer, powdery form of edible silver glitter. Real silver dust is a non-toxic powder of real silver metal, and costs four times more than silver glitter.
