Epsom Salt for Bruises

Epsom salt or magnesium sulfate is a naturally occurring compound that was discovered in Epsom, England. Since its discovery, Epsom salt has been used for a variety of medicinal and non-medicinal purposes.

    • Epsom salt is used for treating injuries like insect stings, bug bites, splinters, bruises, muscle cramps and inflammation. It is also used to treat constipation, migraines and joint stiffness among other things.

    • Epsom salt is used to treat bruises because it has magnesium. Magnesium helps the body heal faster because it make nutrient absorption and oxygen use more efficient in the body.

    Preparation

    • To use Epsom salt for bruises, add two cups of it to an average-size bathtub. Soak for about 12 minutes up to three times a week.
